Commercial Garage Doors![]() Sectional DoorsCoiling and Grille Doors
Sectional doors are the most widely used upward acting doors today. They are typically constructed of four or more horizontally hinged sections which are raised and lowered with the assistance of a spring counterbalance. Sectional doors are guided open and closed by continuous tracks on each side of the jambs that allow the door to move upward, resting horizontally above the opening, vertically, or at an angle along the wall above the opening. Clopay Building Products offers three main types:

A Sectional Door is a simple, low maintenance product that is offered in a variety of
sizes. They are available in many different materials, providing one of the most
versatile of door types. Sectional Doors are available in several gauges of steel as well
as aluminum and fiberglass, which facilitates their use with a variety of architectural
motifs.
Where fenestration is required, the Sectional Door offers many options from small, oval vision lites to full glazed aluminum sections. Glass is available in thicknesses from DSB to 1/2" (12.7 mm) thick. Insulated glass, wire glass, Plexiglas lites and vision panels can be specified. Glazing can either be clear or tinted. Numerous insulation packages make Sectional Doors the ideal product for interior temperature control considerations. Polystyrene and Polyurethane insulation are available with R factors up to 16.4 tested (U= .06 tested). Insulation options include laminated matt, steel or fiberglass back panels, bonded steel foam construction and foam injected, double faced steel sections. The Sectional Door can be chain operated, motor operated or manually operated. Special, high cycle springs will increase standard door life expectancy to 100,000 cycles of use. Special manufacturing criteria can be employed that will allow most Sectional Doors to withstand winds up to 43 pounds per square foot (2.06 Kpa). The sectional configuration allows the easy addition of special section cutouts, exhaust ports and louvers. Removable mullions make the Sectional Door the logical choice for large aircraft hangar applications. Sectional doors can accommodate a wide range of applications including loading docks, service stations, fire stations, restaurants, and many others. They offer many glazing options and can be equipped with a pedestrian pass door in many cases.
Coiling Steel Doors are custom made to fit any opening and are available
in many different materials, gauges and finishes to suit the needs of any project,
regardless of its complexity. The coiling principal of this rugged series of products
minimizes headroom and backroom requirements, saving valuable plant space for
other purposes. Clopay building products offers many solutions: The standard Coiling Door is designed for exterior openings on factories, warehouses,
hangars, garages, etc. and is ideal for all types of vehicle entrance ways and loading
platforms. These doors are extremely durable and are rugged enough for the most severe,
industrial usage. For maximum protection against the weather, specify the All Weather
version, which is fully weatherstripped to minimize the infiltration of wind and dust.
The Thermal Door is insulated to meet R-value 6.25, U-value .16 (0.19 W/m
2°K). It is manufactured with double faced, flat slats and foamed-in-place urethane
insulation. It is essentially an insulated version of the energy efficient All Weather
service door and is designed for maximum retention of heated and/or cooled air.
Specifically designed for pass-through openings such as ticket windows, cafeteria counters,
concession stands and reception desks. The installed product presents a neat,
compact and attractive appearance. Available in primed, stainless steel, aluminum,
and in a variety of wood species.
With their open lattice effect, these grilles operate smoothly and quietly, and allow
full visibility with maximum air flow, while providing excellent security for subdivided
areas. Polycarbonate clear-view panels are also available as an option for added
security. Coiling Grilles offer a practical and attractive closure for shopping malls,
store fronts, parking garages, bank lobbies, school corridors, and counter top
openings.
When headroom is limited but you need the advantages of a mechanically operated
door or grille and the security of a floor track, Side Coiling Doors/Grilles can be
furnished for both straight and curved applications. Available with motor or crank
operation. Due to the unique Atlas Door
operating mechanism, no top or bottom
cables are required. Where headroom is limited and the advantages of a grille are required, then an
Accordion Grille is the ideal choice. Always manually operated, they are available
with many different options. This versatile product can be furnished to conform to
curved lease lines without the floor track that is required on certain other types.
Self Closing Fire Doors are designed for use on interior openings in fire walls, room
partitions, corridors, and vertical shafts. They can function as Service Doors during
normal circumstances, but in the event of a fire, will close, preventing the passage of
flame for up to three hours. Our Fire Doors meet the requirements of Underwriters
Laboratories (UL) and can be specifically designed to comply with Factory Mutual
(FM) requirements. These small Coiling Doors are designed for counter top fire protection. They are
more compact than a standard Fire Door and have a neat, finished appearance.
Labeled Shutters are usable as standard closures during normal situations, but in
the event of a fire they automatically close, preventing the passage of flame for up
to three hours. They are available in primed or stainless steel and meet the
specifications of Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and Factory Mutual (FM).
Smoke seals are available as an added protection against the passage of smoke.
The standard installation is on the interior face of a wall, however, this product can
be mounted in a variety of other ways including between jambs, exterior, between
free standing tubes and many more variations to satisfy difficult design requirements.
Although most sizes are operated manually or with a chain hoist, crank or motor
operation is available. Curtains can be galvanized steel, aluminum, or stainless steel.
Thermal Doors are standard with foam injected polyurethane insulation. Coiling
Doors are the ultimate product for rugged, heavy-duty application when a door is
expected to withstand industrial use for many years.
Standard design allows service doors to withstand winds generating 20 pounds per
square foot (0.96 kPa) pressure. Special design considerations can allow higher
windloads as well.
